Ben Czinski is a Biologist, and since 1979 has been the Resident Director of Eastern Michigan University’s Biology Station in Lapeer Michigan. But even long before this Ben was very interested in Biology and all things out-of-doors. Even as a child he collected butterflies and spent countless hours near his rural home walking the forest and creeks, observing all types of plants and animals. It was only natural then that he would gravitate towards Nature Photography and try to capture some of what he observed in a way that others could enjoy. “It is truly a wonderful activity that allows me to get lost in the subject at hand and be both technical and creative at the same time. I hope that I can show some of natures beauty in perhaps a slightly new and fresh perspective to those who want a little closer look at the world they live in”.
Although Ben has only recently gotten seriously into photography his work has already been acknowledged by being selected for the cover of Recent Advances and Issues in Biology, a book which is part of Oryx’s Frontiers of Science Series. He has also recently started selling his work at various art shows.
Ben is married to Debora Keene, (Czinski) and has two grown children. Debora is a Wildlife Artist, and her work can be seen here on this site.
